Miracle fruit

I was in Cameron Highlands last month and when I visited a shop which sells and plants flowers, I came across this miracle fruit.
Miracle fruit
Flowers of the plant
One of the seller let my parents and I taste it and it was a little sweet with a unique fragrance. I was not aware of its miracle until the seller again asked us to try eating a very sour lime which he plucked from the nursery. It tasted less sour, with the miracle fruit's fragrance lingering in my mouth. So, this miracle fruit actually makes sour taste into sweet! I tried eating strawberry after eating this tiny fruit and the strawberry turns out to taste very very sweet. Before that, the original taste of strawberry is minimal sweetness. Yum Yum.

According to a newspaper report, it can prevent one from being drunk, making beer taste like lemonade. Tasting parties are held in some countries, with a sum of fees of course. After the participant taste this miracle fruit, they will feast on sour fruits like grapefruit and lemon. The effect of this fruit indeed is fun and surprising. =D

Fengdu, China - The Realm of the Dead

This city in China is known as the Ghost City, where one can get a glimpse of hell here. In is situated on the northern bank of the river between Zhongxian and Fuling. During the Han Dynasty, two officials became a family and when combined, their surname, Yin Wang, mean "King of the Underworld"

Landmarks at Mr Mingshan bear horrific names -Last Glance at Home Tower, Nothing-To-Be-Done Bridge, and the Ghost Torturing Pass, the three trials for ghost who wanted to enter the netherworld

Temple of Heng and Ha
The origin of the two vajras can be traced back to ancient Indian Buddhism. In one classic Chinese legend, they were transformed into two guardians with supernatural strength. Guardian Heng could roar or bellow a dazzling light and Han a yellow wind. A ghost who had misbehaved when alive would be knocked down by the light and wind, and prevented from entering the nether world.

Nothing-to-Be-Done Bridge
This three-arched marble bridge is acknowledged to be the second inspection point. A ghost who could stride across it in three steps was considered as a virtuous man while those who could not were considered villains. They would drop down into the river below, and would forever more be deprived of choosing a new life.

Ghost Torturing Pass
Ghost Torturing Pass is the last test before entry to the nether world. Temples display instruments of torture and horrible demon images. Two devilish guards (Shopkeepers) kept a basin of water into which customers threw their coins; if the coins sank they were genuine, but if they floated, the coins were ghost money and unacceptable. For the sum of one dollar, visitors can obtain a 'Passport to Heaven', stamped by the local magistrate and the abbot.

On the other side of the Bridge, Mt. Shuangguishan is reputed as being This World, which is considered a fairyland of tranquility and harmony with lush greenery. There stand some commemorative buildings such as Confucius Temple, Luming Temple, Yuming Spring and En'lai Pavilion, consecrated to Zhou En'lai.

Aliens - Do they exist?

I extract the research of Russell Lee in his True Singapore Ghost Stories #16

Alot of people have claimed to saw UFO flying across the sky. But how true are the sightings?

The Roswell UFO incident is most probably the most famous alien-related news in the history. In July 1947, the wreckage of a crashed alien craft was recovered and an unconfirmed number of LIVE aliens were recovered. How true is the news?  Area 51 was known to be a place where crashed alien spacecraft was store, examined, and researched. Autopsies of dead alien and interrogation of live aliens were done here.

Heaven's Gate is a UFO religion, much like Buddhism and Christian, which founded in early 70's. Extreme eh? On March 26, 1997, 39 followers of this religion died in a mass suicide near San Diego, California. The believed that they were merely exiting their 'human vehicles' so that their souls can go on a journey abroad a spaceship they believed to be following the comet Hale-Bopp. Some male members underwent voluntary castration in preparation for a genderless life.

I guess thats it for this. As for their existence, its up to you to believe it or not.

Creature?

What is this creature?Hmm...i can't get the reak answer. So its up to you guys!

Giant Fish-Catfish and Pirarucu

Ever wonder why catfish is called 'catfish'? Cats eat fishes, so why put their name together?
Catfish is named as they have a pair of barbel's which resembles a cat's whiskers.

This is a normal catfish size:

This is what I call a GIANT catfish

It resembles a shark eh? This giant is found in Mekong, Thailand in the year 2005. It weighs about 646 pounds. Huge. There are rumours that it eats human, but it states from some web that it eats small monkeys, cats, birds and other catfish. Catching this huge fish is dangerous because it can drag you in to the water and drown you instead.

Do you think these amazing giants can survive for another few decades so that our grandchildren can see it as well? What if the catfish grows bigger? Yikes..

Another fish which is also a giant is the Pirarucu. It is known as the world's largest fresh water fish. It swims up to breath air, unlike most fish which can breath in water. This fish can be found in Malaysia itself. In 2009, it was reported to be sighted in Terengganu and was named 'Kenyir Monster'. the locals believed that it was responsible for the mysterious drowning of two men.
The meat of this fish is said to be delicious. Else, the tongue is know to posses medicinal qualities and used to kill intestinal worms.

Thats all for my first interesting fish that I found out a few days ago.

Welcome

This blog will be use to store things that I find interesting. Will be sharing those infos here and some pics too after I research about them. Will not be a deep research. Just some basics.
